What we do
Show up. Set it up. Stay.
We recruit, train and support local people — many of them women — to be the financial front door for the shops in their own neighbourhood. Not a sales visit. A standing relationship.
Priyo Agent is a trust network disguised as a payments network.

The model
Five things we do for a shopkeeper.
In this order, every time. Step three is the one the industry keeps skipping.
- 1
Show up in person, in Bangla, without jargon
Sit down. Buy a cup of tea. Explain what a digital taka is and where it goes. No lanyard, no script, no sales visit.
- 2
Onboard properly, once, for everyone
Bangla QR plus the wallets their customers already carry — so a single setup works across every provider instead of stacking one brand's sticker on another's.
- 3
Stay
The failed transaction, the forgotten PIN, the settlement question, the reconciliation confusion. Activation is our metric, not acquisition. We are paid on live transactions, not signatures.
- 4
Turn their history into an asset
A cash-only shop is invisible: no record, no credit score, no working capital. Every month of transactions is collateral a shopkeeper never had before.
- 5
Bring the rest of the system with us
Savings, remittance, insurance, utility bills, government payments — through the door that trust opened.
The one rule
We are paid on live transactions, not on signatures.
This is deliberate, and it is the whole design. The industry's problem is not that merchants won't sign up — it is that they sign up and never transact. Of roughly 237 million MFS accounts, only 37.6% are active. Merchant payments have been stuck around 5% of mobile money value since 2021.
A model compensated on acquisition would reproduce exactly the failure we exist to fix. So ours isn't.
- What we don't count
- QR stickers placed. Forms signed. Merchants “onboarded”.
- What we do count
- Shops transacting in week 4. And week 12. And week 52.
- What that changes
- Nobody on our team is rewarded for leaving a shop confused.
For shopkeepers
What you actually get.
Written for the person behind the counter, not for a procurement committee.
Acceptance that works with every wallet
One Bangla QR setup, so a customer paying with bKash, Nagad, Rocket or a bank app all reach the same till. No stack of competing stickers.
A person, not a helpline
The same agent, in the same lane, next week. Failed transaction, forgotten PIN, settlement query — you ask a face, not an IVR menu.
A record that becomes collateral
Months of transaction history is the thing lenders have always asked you for and you have never had. It is the difference between being told no and being offered terms.
No jargon, in Bangla
We explain where the money goes, when it lands, and what it costs, in the language of the shop. If you don't understand it, we haven't finished explaining.
The rest of the system, when you want it
Savings, remittance, insurance, utility bills, government payments. Not bundled onto you — offered when it's useful.
Nothing hidden about the cost
The discount rate on a bar of soap matters to a mudir dokan in a way it never does to a supermarket. We say the number out loud, up front.

Become an agent
If you already know everyone on your road, you are most of the way there.
We are looking for people who live where they'd work — and we are actively looking for women, because a woman explaining money to a woman shopkeeper is the only thing that has ever moved Bangladesh's 20-point gender gap.
- You live in, or next to, the union or ward you would cover.
- You are comfortable with a smartphone — we teach the rest.
- You are willing to go back to a shop that is annoyed with you.
- You would rather be trusted for ten years than close ten sales this month.
How to judge us
Our five-year measure of success — not accounts opened.
01
Shops taken from zero digital acceptance to live weekly transactions.
02
The merchant-payment share of MFS value moving off 5%.
03
Shopkeepers who got a first-ever formal loan on a record we helped create.
04
Women as a share of both our agents and the shopkeepers we onboard.
05
Families reached with education, food and relief through the same network.
We come to you. We speak your language. We don't leave after the signature.
What we do
Bring us a district. We'll bring the shops.
Tell us where you need merchant acceptance and we'll tell you honestly what it takes to get it live — and to keep it live.
